There are trips that surprise with their energy, and others that take your breath away with their grandeur. Combining Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon means experiencing both dimensions: excess and silence, the lights of the Strip and the immensity of nature.
This trip was intense, scenic, and totally different from any other American experience.
Practical information
š Destination: Las Vegas, Nevada
š Excursion: Grand Canyon (Arizona)
š Ideal duration: 3ā4 days in Las Vegas + 1 day at the Grand Canyon
šø Budget: medium

What to see in Las Vegas
The Strip
The heart of the city. Themed hotels, lights, fountains, and constant shows.
Not to be missed:
Bellagio (dancing fountains) every 20 minutes and in the evening after 7 pm, every 15 minutes
The Venetian Resort
Caesars Palace
New York-New York Hotel & Casino
Walking in the evening is an experience in itself.
Grand Canyon Excursion
From the chaos of the city to absolute silence.
The most accessible point from Las Vegas is the West Rim , but if you have more time I recommend the South Rim for even more spectacular views.
Walking along the edge of the canyon makes you feel tiny in the presence of nature.
West Rim vs. South Rim
West Rim
Closer to Las Vegas
Perfect for the day
Skywalk (glass observation deck) excursion bookable here
South Rim
Further away
Most iconic panorama
Ideal if you go on a road trip
What I liked most
The contrast.
Going from the artificial lights of the Strip to the silence of the canyon was incredible. It's one of those trips that stays with you.
Helpful tips
Book hotels on the Strip
Avoid July/August (extreme heat)
Bring water for the Grand Canyon
Leave early for the excursion
